Oof, reading this really struck a cord.

I’ve written on my own Substack recently about my decision to leave the Labour Party (having been a double election winning Campaign Manager).

My decision was primarily driven by feeling like my ethics were compromised. From being able to be my true self - a progressive, liberal social democrat - to having to toe the line about things I didn’t agree with like the Winter Fuel Allowance to not feeling like a could say what a strategic sh*t show the first 100 days have been.

One of the benefits of leaving is that I no longer have to be a 'good girl.' Not saying too much about the casual misogyny which permeates the Labour Party. Or having to be tactful when dealing with the regressive behaviour of men who are threatened by strong women.
