Thanks so much for including me and what a brilliant subject ro pull everyone together on…. The good girl conditioning has been the ruin of many women until we can reveal free and be “good to me” girls. Really enjoying getting stuck into the other reads…
Thank you so much for the mention, what a fabulous resource. I always knew I was a rebel, but it wasn't until my 30s that I discovered it was possible for that rebel to be anything other than squashed and hidden away in favour of people pleasing. I hope this helps others break free sooner!
Thank you so much for putting this resource together, and for including Cutting the Strings! I can certainly think of the women in my life who disrupted my good girl programming. Their example continues to inspire and encourage me to do the same. I look forward to finding more examples among the incredible writers whose work you have shared.
Thank you for the mention! I’d chime in that Ramona Quimby was one of the first characters I read who wasn’t a good girl. My daughter loves reading Ramona now.
What an empowering list. So many strong women sharing their wisdom and strength. Thank you for including Living with Big Dreams, and for all you do to help us kick the “good girl” habit!
What a fantastic list and inspiring subject matter! As a certified women's empowerment coach I help women shed their outdated social roles and identities (and the Good Girl is definitely high on the list) in order to shift into the truest versions of themselves. I explore and unpack that extraordinary, but also messy, process of self-transformation in my substack and podcast, On Becoming. https://zevabellel.substack.com/

Thank you so much for sharing! It's great to see that we are on a healthy path to becoming who we truly are, rather than who we are expected to be💗
Thank you Marina, so wonderful to have connected with you and all these amazing women💗
